Wheatley Montessori School is committed to creating a self-stimulating learning environment where students will acquire the necessary intellectual and social skills that will instill a lifelong thirst for learning, a respect for all cultures, and an inspiration to become promoters of world peace. At the Wheatley Montessori School, we celebrate diversity and strive to instill strength, honesty,
compassion and confidence in each child. We give each child support and encouragement to become his or her own unique individual.
Wheatley Montessori School will be well-known in the community as a provider of quality Montessori education for pre-school children.
We will provide an environment that nurtures children to reach their fullest potential and teach them to love learning, while creating a high-quality, enriching environment for staff and a welcoming, open partnership with parents and families.
Wheatley Montessori was established by Sharon Bennett and Sylvia Blassengale, educators who have touched the lives of many young people in the upstate of South Carolina.
Through Sharon’s work as an elementary school media specialist and Sylvia’s experiences as a middle school guidance counselor and teacher of special needs students, they share a passion for ensuring that all upstate children possess the necessary skills that will best prepare them for academic and career success.
Along with the school’s Directress, Colin Blassengale, they proudly opened a
pre-school for 3-6 year olds, Wheatley Montessori School, in the fall of 2015.
Ms. Blassengale also shares the vision that early preparation is essential and that the Montessori Method is the most effective means in educating students so that they will be ready to meet the rigor and demands of the academic world; as well as educating the whole child into becoming a successful member of society.
